Looks like 2012 is going to be another year of redos, do-overs and deja-vu. This time in glorious 3D!!!
Following the recent success of “The Lion King” we will get the re-issue of “Beauty and Beast” in 3D in January, “Star Wars Episode 1” in 3D in February and the second biggest film in history, “Titanic” will be relaunched on April 6th, 2012. In 3 dimensional splendor!!! See a trend?
If you look it at like they are re-issuing these films like Disney used to- dusting off the classics and presenting them to a new audience- then it’s an idea that makes sense. If you focus on the cynical, this is just another way to make more money. Interesting that the 3D craze has waned quite a bit and this might not be the cash in that was anticipated. We shall see….
